"38th District Court (Eastpointe): In this district, Judge Norene Redmond, who was disciplined by the Michigan Supreme Court for her handling of three cases in which she was found to violate court rules and the Michigan Code of Judicial Conduct, has drawn five challengers. Redmond has made her troubles worse by refusing to accept that she did anything wrong, saying that she "disagrees" with the high court's findings and doesn't think she committed any acts of misconduct. "I acted within my discretion," she said. The best of her challengers is KATHLEEN GALEN, who has practiced in a variety of areas of law since 1991. She has a humble, patient attitude to counter Redmond's style, which has been described as haughty and brusque, and the experience to administer the court's docket efficiently."
